Hey, glad to hear you liked my drawing! I'm looking forward expectantly to see yours! I haven't had any professional art classes, seeing as how I am just out of high school (I graduated just last June), but I am self-taught and have picked up a few things over my lifetime (I have been drawing almost my entire life -- no joke!)

So, um, yeah, that's all I wanted to say, I guess! And I'll add you to my Watch so I can see your artwork once you put it up! ;)

Hey, aw thanks for adding me :D

I'll put it up once it's done, I'm funny about going into a line drawing with shading incase I ruin it, so I do it in photoshop now lol. Art school was good, but to be honest, life drawing classes were the best thing I ever did for my drawing skills and I started them when I was in high school. They were the most valuable training I ever had!!

Keep drawing :)

You're actually the second person I've talked to who took a life drawing class and learned a lot from it! So, what DO you do in those classes?

The classes I had all focussed on the human figure. You start with the basics and work up to drawing the figure in different lighting, poses etc. It's worth doing, the learning curve can be steep and a bit frustrating to begin with, but it's extremely valuable if you intend to keep up drawing throughout your life. Have a search locally and see if you can find any classes. I started at 15, the classes were in a tiny town hall and were fairly cheap. :)

This may not be 100% on-topic, but whenever I am drawing people and I need to know, like, say, what a certain expression looks like, or how to draw a hand in a specific position, or even the most-feared of techniques, foreshortening, I will either hold my hand before my face or look in the mirror in my room and mimic what it is I am trying to draw. For several of the drawings I have here on DA, I have done that. A good example is the picture of Cop-Joker I have -- His hand turned out looking so perfect because I copied my very own hand! Hands are tough, but some days I just do it RIGHT! =D
